Legacy of Tril: Soulbound Book 1 by Heather Brewer

Where I got this book: The Library

Summary (from www.legacyoftril.com):

Tril is a world where Barrons and Healers are Bound to each other: Barrons fight
and Healers cure their Barrons’ wounds in the ongoing war with the evil Graplar
King. Seventeen-year-old Kaya was born a Healer, but she wants to fight. In
Tril, and at Shadow Academy, where she is sent to learn to heal, it is against
Protocol for Healers to fight. So Kaya must learn in secret. Enter two young
men: One charming, rule-following Barron who becomes Bound to Kaya and whose
life she must protect at all costs. And one with a mysterious past who seems
bent on making Kaya’s life as difficult as possible. Kaya asks both to train
her, but only one will, and the consequences will change their lives forever.

My Review:

When I read the synopsis at the library, my first thought was that this was Mulan with more romance but I decided to try it because I love romance +  action. I liked how Kaya  Oshiro is brave like Mulan to save  her parents. When she goes to the Shadow Academy she is forced to be Bound to Trayton a Barron because his parents are rich. She meets Trayton’s best friend who is a Barron named Darius. Two Graplars try to kill Kaya when she was talking with Darius and she kills one of them with Darius helping. Kaya realizes that she as a Healer can die very easily so she asks Trayton to teach her to fight with a Katana, but he refuses so Kaya asks Darius to teach her how to fight. I love how the bitchiest teacher was the one who set the Graplars inside the gate lol! Darius turns out to be her Soulbound Barron though, Kaya’s Barron died already. I love this book! Can’t wait for the next book! 😀

I would rate this book a 5/5!

My review:

I absoutely love this product!! I have been using these 2 products for about a year and a half and my hair has definitely improved. Before I used the Nexxus Ultimate Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I used Pantene Pro V and it was too harsh my hair so my hair had hella split ends, rough, dull, tangled and my alot of my hair fell out when I was washing. The Nexxus Shampoo + Conditioner are MIRACLES because they fixed the damage caused by Pantene, less split ends, shiny, soft, no tangles in my hair and gets rid of oily hair. I use these products everyday, I have oily hair so then I don’t want my hair to appear greasy.  I totally agree with all the claims. When I was still using Pantene, the hairstylist said that my hair was badly damaged, when I used Nexxus over a couple of months then I went back there she said that it got healthier. Some may say I am wasting $50 but then it lasts 6 months and I use it everyday so then really I am spending about $0.28 cents per day for beautiful hair. That is really worth it for beautiful hair. I would rate these 2 products a 5/5 each for the making my hair shiny + gorgeous.

Pros: shiny, untangled, soft, oil remover, healthy hair, smells good,

Cons: Price may be too pricey for some people.

Sugar and Spice by Lauren Conrad

(WARNING: SPOILERS!)

Sugar and Spice an LA Candy Novel by Lauren Conrad

Summary (from book Jacket):

Sugar and spice . . . not everyone’s nice.

Fresh from being betrayed by one of her closest friends, new celebrity Jane Roberts has learned a few lessons. Most important: know who to trust. And in Hollywood, that list is short. Determined to get control of her life, Jane swears off boys and all the trouble they bring. But when high school sweetheart Caleb and L.A. crush Braden show up, both acting sweeter than ever, Jane has a hard time remembering her no-boys rule.

And for the first time Jane’s best friend, Scarlett, has only one guy on her mind: her new boyfriend, Liam. But being on a hit reality show means hanging out with other guys on-camera, and Liam isn’t too happy with pretending to play a bit part in her love life.

Just when everything feels out of control, Jane makes a discovery that changes everyone’s definition of “reality” forever. In television star Lauren Conrad’s L.A. Candy series, the drama is pure dishy fun.

My Review:

I personally thought this book was super interesting, like with all the drama and stuff. This made me realize that the producers can edit a star in anyway they damn well please, like Jane, she’s the sweet girl that everyone likes but on air, they made her personality all snarky and mean. I learned how being famous isn’t all glitz and glamour like how the paparazzi stalk you just for a few pictures. I felt like Gabby was the plastic surgery addicted moron whose sleazy publicist used her like a puppet. Madison is the fame whore, the girl who wants more airtime like in The New Housewives of Whatever one reality star has to be on camera the most with alot of drama and fighting. Scarlett wasn’t a big character in this book, all it did was add more fluff to a book, it was basically about Scarlett having a boyfriend.  Madison’s sister Sophia shows up and Sophia was born gorgeous and skinny. Madison hates her and SHOCKER! Madison got a sugar daddy and  he paid for all her plastic surgery. WE all have 1 person we hate so its relatable. I feel Jane I was able to relate the most, boy drama, someone stealing your idea, cheaters, camera and fame whores.

I would rate this book a 4/5 because it felt  like I was reading a book written for idiots.

XOXO
